OCS 01 Co. Ltd

 “OCS 01” Co.Ltd. was established in 2001. It develops and manufactures a wide variety of optical cables for different applications and different deployment techniques.

Over the period from 2002 to 2015 OCS 01 supplied over 6 mln of cabled fiber km to customers in Russia, former Soviet Union, and European Union.

OCS 01 cable capacity is over 2 mln of cabled fiber km per year. The company can make cables with up to 576 fiber counts in loose tube designs and up to 64 fibers in central tube designs.

The Federal Agency of Communications of the Russian Federation has certified all cable types produced by OCS 01.

Comprehensive effectiveness of OCS 01 cable deployments in different segments of the networks – from submarine long-haul to indoor cables - is achieved due to the following: 

  • Using state-of-the-art fiber produced by Corning Inc., USA;
  • State of the art cable armoring equipment that uses high strength steel wires with the tensile strength  1960 MPa or more allows to minimize the material usage while manufacturing high strength cables with lengths up to 25 km in one piece;
  • OCS 01  with cooperation with  OOO “PLASTCOM” (manufacturer of plastic protective ducts)  offer complete delivery of  optical  cable + protective duct.  This offer guarantees the installation lengths while deployment by blowing technique and also the complete vertical optical access system for multi dwelling units. 

Long term partnership with Corning Incorporated, the leading world manufacturer of optical fiber,  enables OCS 01 to be one of the first cablers in the world to use Corning’s state-of-the-art fiber products like Corning® SMF-28® Ultra, SMF-28® ULL, multimode ClearCurve®  for mass cable production.

The main single-mode fiber product that OCS 01 uses is Corning® SMF-28® Ultra. This fiber meets or exceeds ITU-T G.652.D and G.657.A1 recommendations. SMF-28® Ultra allows OCS 01 to achieve attenuation in cabled fiber of 0.180±0.003 dB/km with the confidence level of 95% while the max value of attenuation in cabled fiber does not exceed 0.184 dB/km. With such high quality cable leading construction companies can achieve installed fiber attenuation of 0.183 dB/km.
